Job Description

  The Sale and Business Development Manager will help the organization to achieve its sales target and win projects that match our vision and strategy. You will work closely with the CEO to design specific sales activities and sales drives to achieve the goals. In short, you will pick up and respond to inbound leads, which come from our broad global client base and referrals in the development and NGO sectors, as well as scoping the marketplace to identify new opportunities to generate a solid sales pipeline.

Job Responsibilities:
• Achieve the annual sales targets and the business department performance KPIs.
• Act as the key contact from lead generation through to delivering a signed project contract.
• Generate and qualify leads with new and existing clients in priority sectors.
• Developing a lead generation strategy and plan, including sector, organization, and project-level research to identify new business opportunities.
• Introduction meetings, conference attendance, leveraging referrals and past clients, etc
• Upselling and cross-selling within project delivery.
• Maintain the Business Development contact database and lead tracking in CRM platform.
• Work closely with Technical Team Leads and Senior Project Managers.
• Work closely with Chief Finance Officer and Senior.
• Thorough and well organized project handover of signed projects, following the project handover SOP, to finance, project management, and technical team leads.
• Availability to project managers and technical team leads during project deliver for the technical team for questions around what was agreed in project contracting.

Job Requirements

  • At least 7-10 years’ experience in sales in commercial sector, some experience in the international development / social sector / corporate shared value would be a plus.
• Proven past experience in pipeline development and management and reporting.
• Strong proficiency in English writing for business.
• Proficient in developing budgets and work plans in order to produce robust project costings and margin calculations.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher (Master’s degree preferred).
• Interest in fields of behavior change, marketing or communication and human centered design.
• Interest or experience working in Sustainable Development Goals topics including: health and well being, financial inclusion, climate change and sustainable food and agriculture.
