Job Description

  - Lead the designated category department to ensure that the overall company’s objectives are being met regarding financial objectives, vendor partnerships, product assortment, and supply chain;
- Ensure the cultivation of strong relationships with vendor partners to generate co-op revenue (Vendor supported advertising dollars) to meet or exceed budget;
- Gather insights from various sources to enable fact-based decision-making;
- Consistently reviews assortment and product selection to ensure we are meeting our objective to be the “leading place for retail”;
- Manage retail pricing decisions for base, TPR’s, everyday value items and private brands within the company’s pricing strategies;
- Work with the team to plan and execute comprehensive ad/promotional programs, seasonal strategies, program enhancements, and partner brands;
- Collaborate with store department managers and the merchandising team to quickly resolve issues impacting store operations, in-stock conditions, inventory, creating attractive displays, margin, shrink and store conditions;
- Create inspiring visual merchandising (display grid) that improves the customer shopping experience and grows revenue. Work with store operations to ensure timely and effective execution; and
- Supervises; mentors and coaches the team. Communicates expectations and holds staff accountable through ongoing feedback, coaching and training.
- Check incoming materials for quality, and quantity against invoices, purchase orders and packing slips or other documents
- Achieve the targeted Customer Service Standards in order to meet and exceed the customers’ expectations including provision of customer services to all the customers where necessary.
- Provide supervision and leadership for the convenience stores by scheduling and monitoring work assignments, providing training, providing disciplinary action as needed, completing performance evaluations, and providing recommendations for the hiring of staff
- Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  - Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, General Management, Hospitality or a related area
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the same position or in other relevant industry. Experience in retail is an added advantage
- Experienced in negotiating with suppliers for costs, promotions, services and distribution
Proficiency in English. Being able to communicate in Chinese is a plus
- Knowledge in quality control/check
- Very good analytical, critical thinking and date-driven decision making skills
- Good Communicator and supervisory skill which coaching and monitoring others
- Capable of working under pressure and overtime
