Job Description

Internal Audit Manager will lead the entire internal audit function in order to provide the best assurance and advisory services and issue independent reports to Board Audit Committee. The main activities include testing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems; testing for compliance in all operational and functional areas.

- Prepare and develop strategic, long term and annual audit work plan according to existing risk profiles and ATOM business plans
- Prepare budgets of Internal Audit Department, including estimation for salary and benefit, staff resources, trainings, travels, and supports of audit work
- Develop and update an Internal Audit Manual, audit programs/checklists and working papers
- Manage, supervise, and review the work of all Internal Audit Staff
- Conduct field work according to work plans with department staff
- Perform unannounced audit, special examinations, fraud investigations, and assignments at the request of management, board, or staff
- Provide technical and administrative supports to the board audit committee as needed
- Conduct yearly evaluation on audit performance to ensure that audit activities add value to the work and activities of ATOM
- Plan, recruit, motivate, and manage Internal Audit Staff, to ensure the efficiency and adequacy of internal audit activities
- Provide orientation and annual trainings for Internal Audit Staff to keep competency
- Conduct performance appraisal for Internal Audit Staff, including setting performance objectives and regular monitoring
- Coordinate with external auditors, bank supervisors, and other external assessors and evaluates when required
- Provide internal audit reports to management and the audit committee
- Provide quarterly/semester updates to the Board of Audit Committee on the status of audit recommendations and any areas that could be the cause of increasing risks to ATOM

Job Requirements

The Internal Audit Manager needs the following qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master of Business Administration or equivalent degree in the field of Accounting or Finance; certification in the field of Auditing or Accounting is an added advantage
- Minimum 3 years of auditing experience or financial management; at least 2 years in a middle management /supervisory position, preferably in financial institutions
- Comprehensive knowledge of microfinance institutions and banking sectors
- Strong knowledge of internal control structures and risk management
- Good understanding of the national legal framework, including taxation and legal compliance for banking and financial institutions
- Integrity, honest, and principled individual
- Able to make sound judgments, relevant and practical recommendations
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to coach and train others
- Willingness to travel to provinces for audit, evaluation work, and other assignments
- Good knowledge in English
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, others)
