Job Description

  * Specifically, this position will focus in the following areas, in order of priority:

• Develop the overall marketing strategy, working closely with the Community and Creative Director, Marketing & Communications (MarCom) Manager, Sales Director and Project Managers to understand the market, audience, sales targets and key dates of the project;
• Co-develop value propositions for each market, high level messaging and identify appropriate tactics for message delivery;
• Be a “brand check”, ensuring that your work and all other proposals stay within the core brand and resonate with target markets;
• Offer a content strategy perspective throughout the development process of all materials for marketing and communications, influencing decisions and timelines across projects to ensure they offer an experience that is aligned with each brand’s identity and objectives, and ensuring
consistency across platforms;
• Create clear guidelines to establish, maintain and evolve a voice and tone that differentiates each of ULS’ brands, placing them in a prominent position across the variety of markets and its clients/partners;
• Work cross-functionally with the rest of the MarCom team and partners to ensure we are creating the most relevant content - for the right channels, with the right messaging to best support each brand’s business objectives;
• Create and maintain editorial calendars, style guides, and metadata frameworks from websites, social media and other channels, that can be useful for the generation of content to effectively engage our targeted audiences;
• Schedule posts on ULS’ social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, blog etc.;
• Work with the MarCom team on the establishment of a YouTube channel for ULS and explore other strategic channels that may contribute to raise awareness on ULS and its projects in an effective and resource-effecient manner;
• Monitor traffic and engagement on ULS’ website (e.g. conversions and bounce rates) as well as social media channels. Analyze and refine our communication strategies to best reach our target audiences;
• Follow industry-related news and generate ideas around trending topics.
• In general - plan, write and edit content; ensure it is clear, compelling and properly distributed across print, web, social media and other marketing and communication platforms, always in a way that is consistent with ULS’ brand and project philosophies;
• Work closely with all of ULS’ project teams and partners to gather all relevant information and data and develop a comprehensive description of each project that will turn into relevant, concise and accurate content to be used entirely or in pieces in marketing and communication materials;
• Create narratives and content experiences tailored to the Company’s target audiences using research, SEO analysis tools and other resources;
• Proofread and edit written pieces before publication;
• Review and update published content as needed.

Job Requirements

  -Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Literature or equivalent;
-Minimum 5 years of experience as Content Creator, Content Strategist, Content Manager or similar;
-Strong experience in long form writing in various styles, including formal government (or similar), journalism, casual (youthful) marketing, professional report writing, etc.;
-Passionate about storytelling in all its forms (writing, images, podcast, etc.);
-Broad understanding of strategic communications and experienced in using social media for business purposes;
- Experience targeting Cambodian audiences or other developing markets in the region;
-Strong knowledge of writing and editing tools (MS Word, InCopy, etc.), as well as online collaborative writing tools (Google Docs, OneDrive, etc.);
-Comfortable working with content management systems such as WordPress, SquareSpace, Drupal or similar;
-Applied knowledge of HTML, coding, SEO guidelines and keyword research tools (e.g. Moz and Google Keyword Planner) preferred but not essential;
-Proactive and able to work independently, with strong time-management skills.
-Languages: Fluent in English, competency in either Khmer or Chinese (Mandarin) preferred but not essential.

* Other Details
Working hours: Approximately 40-45 hours per week; primary work days shallbe Monday to Friday 9 AM – 6 PM with occasional offsite work. Work outside of ocial hours will be required on occasions.

Reports to: This position reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager.

Compensation: ULS is offering a competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
