Job Description

  - Medical and surgical assessment of disorders involving the ear, nose, throat and head and neck regions
- Needs to be proficient in outpatient and inpatient management of ENT patients
- Skills required include: endoscopic assessment of the ear, nose and sinuses; screening, assessment of and management of Head and Neck cancers; performing surgeries on the ear, nose, throat and head and neck region
- The candidate needs to be proficient in providing ENT care for adults as well as children, including management and/or referral of children with congenital anomalies, as well as development delay as a results of ENT issues
- Candidates need to be able to train staff to perform hearing tests both on adults & children , as well as to interpret results of hearing tests, and manage the condition further
- Basic speech therapy management and referral to appropriate health care specialists
- Participates in administrative duties, including monthly census, audits, morbidity and mortality reports.
- Follows medical practice policies and procedures, including attending all mandatory meetings, minimizing incident reports, using resources efficiently, and practicing medicine in a cost-effective manner.
- Completes all required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards and to comply with electronic medical record requirements.
- Be knowledgeable in the structure of careful handling of all equipment used and to be aware of the need to and report faulty equipment.
- Acts as a clinical resource person for patients, family, staff and multi-disciplinary teams giving expert care, advise and support with regards to ENT conditions
- Deliver care within evidenced based care pathways.
- Provide high quality care within a safe and supportive environment.
- Be available for patient, family for professional consultation and advice until completion of treatment.
- Respond to and action referrals from in house and other hospitals as appropriate.
- Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of rights for patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge, skill and abilities at an advanced clinical ENT Consultant level.

* Administrative Duties & Responsibilities

- Develops the role of the Clinical Specialist in ENT, within the Hospital, developing appropriate protocols, auditing and benchmarking the ENT service.
- Works in collaboration with other consultants and members of the multidisciplinary team, to develop care pathways, which will ensure that patients receive a high standard of evidence-based care
- Provide effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team caregivers and families.
- Co-ordinates ENT Specialist care for patients within the ENT department and in the Hospital.
- Liaise with other healthcare professionals both in the hospital and Primary Care settings.
- Ensure the provision of quality service in line with hospital policy, ENT guidelines and other national quality health standards.
- Participate in developing policy documents, standards of care and protocols in line with best practice guidelines.
- Manage allocated resources effectively and efficiently. Coordinate and advise on the provision of specialist supplies within budgetary constraints.
- Initiate and participate in service audit and research.
- Collaborates with managers, medical, nursing and other health care professionals within the Hospital with regard to specific departmental and Hospital goals and activities related to ENT.
- Promotes open communication, healthy working relationships and shows initiative amongst all hospital staff.
- Reports accidents/incidents, and complaints and ensures that risk management forms are completed.
- Ensures a safe environment for staff and patients.

Job Requirements

  - Degree in Medicine recognized in World Directory of Medical School (essential)
- Completion of 5 years residency training in an accredited ENT program (essential)
- Fellowship or Sub- specialty completion and certificate (if appropriate)
- Recognized Medical Professional Board Registration (country of origin & of current place of practice) (essential)
- Medical Specialty Board Certification through country of -rigin & of current place of practice (essential)
- Current medical/or practice license from country of origin & of current practice (essential)
- Certificate of good standing from the medical board from country of origin & of current practice (essential)
- At least 3 years of experience practicing as a ENT (essential)
- Logbook of cases for the past 3 years (essential)
- Valid BLS, ACLS and/or ATLS certification
- Proficient in English writing, reading, listening and speaking skills (essential).
- Fantastic manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and visuospatial awareness.
- Superb organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent decision-making skills and communication.
- Emotionally resilient with the ability to make patients feel at ease.
- Good professional ethics and a heart to serve the Cambodian Community
- Compassionate and good patient relationship & customer service oriented
- Knowledge of health care administration systems.
